Good news!  Tucson has won a  prestigious national award in the  arts.  Our city has been voted one of the Top 25 Arts Destinations in the country by the readership of AmericanStyle magazine.  Today, Tom Philabaum presented a plaque supplied by AmericanStyle commemorating the award to Mayor Walkup and city council members.  This ranking recognizes Tucson for the high quality of its art galleries, festivals, institutions and events.  Winning cities understand that investing in the arts can help promote economic development and community good will.  We are thrilled to be a part of this encouraging recognition.

Be sure to catch the current exhibition at Etherton Gallery in downtown Tucson. Tom is one of four featured artists/designers of Arizona, along with Stephen Paul and Scott Baker of Tucson, and David Adler of Scottsdale.  The show highlights the diversity and elegance of contemporary desert design in Tucson.

The exhibition runs through November 28.

Our annual summer show features new work by Tom Philabaum and his glass colleagues.  These glass “Rocks”  and Rock Vases are Philabaum’s latest work.  They are inspired by his Precarious Rock sculptures.
