Our current exhibition, “Playing with Fire”  features the work of six flameworking glass artists.  Flameworking, also known as lampworking, is a precise method of heating glass rods in the flame of a torch, and manipulating the hot glass to very precise and often delicate outcomes.

We are all in the planning stages for the April 8-10
Tucson Glass Festival, “Viva el Vidrio!”
Tom is coordinating the exhibitions for the festival, which will feature Southwestern glass artists and Latino glass artists from our neighbors south of the border.  At this time, 16 Tucson galleries and 2 museums will be featuring glass exhibitions.  There will be bleachers set up for demonstrations of glassblowing and flameworking at Philabaum Glass,  Sonoran Glass Art Academy, and Fire Ranch Glassworks.  Pima Community College will have a demo by a neon artist.  Shuttles will run between most venues.

We are very excited about this Festival, and hope to entice the Tucson community with the lure of glass art!  Mark your calendar for
