This installation depicts colorful flying carpets, in remembrance of those childhood stories evoking the magic, wonder, and awe of flying.
Find the 30 glass carpets swirling in an ascending vortex high above your head in the center of the airport’s ticketing level.

“Baseline Bouquet”
South Mountain  Community College, Performing Arts Center
Mesa, AZ
30′ x 30′, beginning 12′ off the floor, and topping out at 45′ above the floor.
Prior to the college’s construction, the land was covered in cotton fields, citrus groves, and Japanese flower gardens.  Tom incorporated all three in his design of 210 glass flowers.
